Nano brown rice!

The “Nano” rice variety was created in 1912, through selection from the Chinese Originario, by the experimental station of Vercelli.
A compact and strong rice, but its diffusion was limited, due to the small size of the plant and the grain (round) and the very low yields in the fields.
Since 1920, with the arrival of hybridization, the qualities of the “Nano” were rediscovered to generate, through artificial crosses, new varieties such as the very famous “Vialone nano”.
Recovered and preserved by Una Garlanda, Nano rice has been registered in the Conservation Varieties register since 2018 and today, with this small production, it can finally be
savoured in its integral essence.

like nuggets, but difficult to grow enough to be defined

THE CLIMATE : the rice fields where it is born, “at the foot” of the snow-capped Monte Rosa, must face low temperatures which give small productions of great quality .

THE SEED : strong, rustic and autonomous, our Eroico is part of those historic varieties created by Nature, which Una Garlanda protects and cultivates today.
