Mixtures (ecotypes) of local seeds, very different from each other, were simply called “Nostrale” and were cultivated and eaten for centuries, adapting,
thanks to those differences, to the environment and its changes.

THIS RICE IS HEROIC BECAUSE:

THE TERRITORY: the Baraggia, “Piedmont's savannah”, with its red soils
like nuggets, but difficult to grow enough to be defined
“Land without subsistence.”

THE CLIMATE : the rice fields where it is born, “at the foot” of the snow-capped Monte Rosa, must face low temperatures which give small productions of great quality .

THE SEED : strong, rustic and autonomous, our Eroico is part of those historic varieties created by Nature, which Una Garlanda protects and cultivates today.
